The GBG feature on BBC Two’s ‘Wild Night In’

Posted on Monday, June 21st, 2010

As we trailed yesterday, David Waters, Director of the GBG, was attending the live filming of the BBC’s Wild Night In last night (Sunday) – a superb fund-raising initiative that we’ve previously benefited from in the shape of our new hide.

David was interviewed live by Chris Packham. The five-minute interview was interspersed with high-quality video film of our bustards taken at our release-site, and Chris, who has supported the GBG for some years now, was extremely enthusiastic about our release-project ending the interview with the words, “I haven’t met anyone in the UK that’s worked as hard as Dave and his wife to make a project work…they’ve given everything for this. It’s a brilliant re-introduction project…”

The entire two-hour programme – which is definitely worth watching from beginning to end – is now available on BBC iPlayer (the images above are screenshots from the programme and are copyright BBC).

You can view David’s interview with Chris at 0:46:40 here.
