Sad news from the Hawk Conservancy

Posted on Friday, October 8th, 2010

We’ve just been contacted by the Hawk Conservancy and told that Jean-Claude, one of two Great Bustards we kept there as neither were healthy enough to release into the wild, has passed away this morning after a very short illness. Jean-Claude was over 20 years old and had only been ill for just over a day. He will undoutedly be missed by visitors to the Hawk Conservancy as well as GBG staff and volunteers, and will be featured in the upcoming issue of ‘Otis’, our in-house magazine.
