Cycle to Saratov & Biking for the Bustard

Posted on Sunday, December 5th, 2010

Now the snow has cleared off David has been out on the roads clocking up the miles on his bike. The total he has reached is 308 miles – this is well ahead of the GBG Team, but the team are leading in the fundraising, so please sponsor Dave by going to www.justgiving.com/david-waters1

Don’t forget the “Biking for the  Bustard” event starting at the Black Horse in Great Durnford at 12 noon on Sunday 2nd January. All are welcome, even diners or drinkers without bikes! It’s the perfect way to blow away the Christmas cobwebs and join us for a brisk bike ride – or a cost coffee in the warmth of the pub.

    Hello.
I’m a member of the support group and also a member of Winchester University of the Third Age (U3A). A number of us ( about 12) are interested in knowing more about the Great Bustard and I wondered if I can arrange for the group to visit the nesting site(s) and be told more about the presevation programme. You may well get 10 or more new members out of it!. Ideally we would like to visit during the summer, but I would be grateful if you can advise me fistly if a visit and talk is possible and secondly when the best time would be come.
I will try to get to the pub on the 2nd.Many thanks
