Update: David Waters, GBG Director, has now cycled 669 miles! A full update will be issued shortly.
Despite the cold winter weather, our intrepid cyclists have been peddling hard on the roads of Wiltshire and in the gym. Two hypothetical routes are being cycled, Salisbury Plain to Saratov, and Saratov back to Salisbury Plain.
David Waters, GBG Director, heading East (the purple icon below) has cycled an impressive 450 miles and raised £650. The GBG team, heading West (the green icon below) have cycled a slightly more modest distance, but raised £889.70.
This fundraising, as well as being a great way to stay in shape, will help the Great Bustard Group afford an essential new Landrover for the project site.
Four-wheeled transportation not only allows safe travel across Salisbury Plain for staff and visitors, but is far less disruptive to wildlife, who startle less easily, because they don’t recognise vehicles as potential threats.
All donations have Gift Aid applied as well, meaning we receive more money than you donate because the tax is given back!
