I am now at the Diakovka field station working on the autumn census with colleagues from the A N Severtsov Institute. The fields are starting to dry after a few days rain, and there are plenty of Bustards about. Early indications are that there is a good ratio of females to young, but it is too early to make any conclusions.
I will get an update from the rest of the team in Wiltshire about the Bustards ain the UK and get a summary posted in the very near future.
