We wrap us the Cycle to Saratov (and back)!
The aim was to cycle the same distance as Great Bustard chicks must travel in order to be released onto Salisbury Plain, all the way from Saratov oblast in Russia to the plains of Salisbury. The route is being cycled in two different directions: David Waters, GBG Director travelled east and The GBG team cycled west from Saratov. The money raised will go towards buying a new four wheel drive vehicle – an essential item for the release site on Salisbury Plain.
We’d like to thank everyone who volunteered, cycled and donated. The last day of the event culminated in a barbeque and final cycle. You can read more about the celebrations to wrap up the event here.

Whilst the cycling is over, you can still make a difference to the Great Bustards on Salisbury Plain. Please consider making a donation at Just Giving.
All donations have Gift Aid applied, meaning we receive more money than you donate because the tax is given back!
